Blue Attic is great!
Published 12 months ago in Uncategorized.Blue Attic
I popped in to Blue Attic yesterday to check out how this new local boutique is going. Its great! Chock-full of local creative types’ wares, including clothes, art, bags, hats etc, all made here in Melbourne by local artesans. And you can enjoy a cup of organic free trade coffee and munch on some yummy bikkies! Bliss. What a way to shop!
The owner makes the coolest dresses I’ve seen in a long time - kind of rocker-meets-miss-muffett, I guess that sounds a bit mad, but I fell in love with them. I even took a pic, coz I wanted to email them to a friend of mine who I know is gonna love them as much as I did! And there’s a guy who screen-prints cool kids tshirts with Dillon, Lennon, Che etc. And a girl who custom-makes bras! Sooo fab! Its such a fun little place. And of course there’s *ahem* some gorgeous jewellery in there
I love how much the top end of Lygon Street is coming along as a cool area! YAY! I have more places to review in this area, will report back soon

Sounds great - where is it exactly??
Its up the top end of Lygon Street.
323 Lygon St, East Brunswick.
If you know that area, then its between Victoria and Albert Streets, on Lygon
I just want to add accolades to this awesome shop, and say that there’s also a few cute VINTAGE dresses, for those lovers of vintage out there!! Also, the owner does beautiful tailor-made designs according to what you want - just bring in a pattern or picture! She does alterations, tailoring and has great ideas about flattering styles for YOUR figure.
The sewing machine’s right in-shop if you want down-to-earth and great advice about repairs to well-loved but torn/damaged piece of clothing that you want to keep.
Also, I’m enrolling in SEWING CLASSES that are going to be happening there shortly. There is certainly a lot going on in this ‘little’ store that’s more like a cottage industry owing to the dynamism and creativity of the owner!
Highly recommend!!!
Just an update people: I called in to Blue Attic for a coffee the other day and they are having all sorts of great stuff there. Like: a mad hatters-tea-party on Saturday! How cool! If anyone wants to go, let me know coz I’m going. The front window is all done out in cool Alice-in-Wonderland stuff at the moment. There are some beautiful skirts in there, but they were selling like hot-cakes when I went in, so get in there quick if you want to check them out. And the shop’s be rearranged a bit, you can cozy in on a couch in the front with a coffee and a chat which is just awesome!
